The Villainy & Virtue story begins 4 generations ago in Austria, Europe. Our ancestors made 14k Gold & Silver engagement rings, & custom Jewelry for our clients. Fast forward to today, we specialize in high quality, tarnish & water resistant stainless steel chains that look like solid 14k Gold, without the 14k Gold price.

Every chain, & item we sell to our customers is protected by a 6 month long warranty, relaxed 30 day returns, & premium express shipping on every order. After you place your order, you will receive an email containing your tracking information. Everything sold by us is made, & ships from here from our warehouse in Lousiana. About Our Chains
We believe that quality chains shouldn't only look like real, solid gold. We believe that they should also be tarnish & water resistant, mimicing the quality of solid Gold jewelry while maintaining a reasonable price. We utilize Stainless Steel as our base material, as Stainless Steel allows for our Gold Layering process to fully bond with the metal.
Due to our process of Gold Layering, the chains we produce are far more durable & last multiple years. The industry standard for, "Gold Plated" chains currently, is to do a brass or copper base & then to PVD plate the Jewelry piece. What this causes, is oxidization & tarnishing. If you've ever held a piece with a copper or brass core, you will often find the copper color will typically begin to show within a month.
On average, brass or copper PVD plated Jewelry will tarnish within a month or two, even with proper care.
A high quality piece, with stainless steel as its core metal & Gold Layered, will last far longer - and will be tarnish & water resistant. Which is precisely what we use.
